Abstract

Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılap Tarihi Enstitüsü'nde Doktoraderecesi için Devrim Dumludağ tarafından Ağustos 2007'deteslim edilen tezin kısa özetiBaşlık: Gelişmekte Olan Ülkelerde ve Türkiye'de YabancıSermaye Yatırımları : Kurumların RolüBu tezin amacı gelişmekte olan ülkelerde Yabancı SermayeYatırımlarının belirleyicileri arasında kurumsal değişkenlerinrolünü incelemektir.Makroekonomik ve kurumsal değişkenlerle Yabancı SermayeYatırımları arasındaki ilişkiyi analiz etmek üzere, öncelikle,gelişmekte olan ülkelerde panel data analizi uygulanmıştır.Daha sonra, Türkiye'de faaliyette bulunan 52 yabancısermayeli firma yöneticisinden sağlanan anket sonuçları ilekurumsal değişkenlerin Yabancı Sermaye Yatırımları üzerindekietkisi ayrıntılı olarak incelenmiştir.

An abstract of the Dissertation of Devrim Dumludağ for thedegree of Doctor of Philosophy from the Atatürk Institute forModern Turkish History to be taken September 2007Title : Foreign Direct Investment in Developing Countries :The Role of InstitutionsThe aim of this dissertation is to investigate therelationship among foreign direct investment and institutionsin developing countries.In this dissertation I examine the role of macroeconomicvariables and institutions as determinants of foreign directinvestment flows by applying panel data regressions indeveloping economies.In addition, I apply a questionnaire survey to theexecutives of 52 multinational corporations operating inTurkey in order to reveal the impact of institutionalvariables on foreign direct investment.
