The Turkish banking system at the threshold of European integration: inter-disciplinary analyses

Abstract

ABSTRACT European integration will be the most important variable in the Turkish Economic and political platform. In ten years time, the efforts which have been taking place on the Turkish agenda for more than 150 years will probably have been judged by the wide dynamics of global history. The coming decade will leave either a European or Eurasian Turkey to the 21st century. In this thesis, the author concentrates on the relations and on the framework of a key sector in the economy, though the country's membership pertains to many other parameters. The sector taken into consideration is banking and accordingly its position in the process. The financial sector is indispensably necessary for production and consumption relations in today's modern society in terms of entrepreneurial and service abilities. Beyond its significant place in daily operations, the sector's quality and quantitative features determine the excellence of the rhythm of any developmental effort. This harmonization is a difficult but an important MUST to be achieved in terms of global improvements. The thesis approaches to topic in terms of Economics.Politics and Management sciences. Through analyses, it is concluded that the Turkish Banking System is not completly ready for European integration.
