dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT The present study was conducted to investigate the differences in job satisfaction between managers and non-managers and between males and females in Turkey. The short form Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire was administered to a sample of 150 employees in 13 organizations The following hypotheses were tested: 1) Employees in managerial jobs will express greater job satisfaction than will employees in clerical jobs. 2) Male employees will express greater job satisfaction than will female employees. 3) Employees who chose their jobs on the basis of intrinsic factors will express greater job satisfaction than will employees who chose their jobs on the basis of extrinsic factors. 4) Employees will express less satisfaction related to extrinsic factors regardless of their occupational level and gender. The predicted difference in the first hypothesis was found in the data however tthis difference was not statistically significant but revealed a trend. The second hypothesis was rejected and the third and fourth hypotheses was confirmed by the findings. m | en_US |
