Changing patterns in international of capital: Multinational firms from developing countries with specific reference to Turkish multinational firms

Abstract

ÖZET Bu çalışmada çokuluslu işletmeler ve onların özellikle direkt yabancı yatırım faaliyetleri incelendi. Çalışma boyunca işletmelerin çokuluslu faaliyetlerinde zaman içerisinde bir takım değişmeler olduğunu gördük. Bunların içinde dikkati en çok çeken nokta, gelişmekte olan ülkelerin de çokulusluluk faaliyetine artan bir şekilde yönelmeye başlamalarıdır. Bu bağlamda Türk firmalarının, şu ana kadar sınırlı kalsa da, belirli sektörlerde çokuluslu faaliyetlerde buluna bileceklerini gösterdik.

iv ABSTRACT In this dissertation multinational Anns and their direct foreign investment activities were investigated. Throughout the study it was observed that there have been significant changes in multinational activities of firms from different regions. Among the changes the most note-worthy is the involvement of firms from developing countries in multinational activities at an increasing rate. It was also showed that Turkish firms are able to spread their multinational activities, even though their level of involvement is very limited yet.
