dc.description.abstract'The Hewit test has been used to determined whether the 18-20year age group tennis players could learn to hit more effectively with theballs thrown by a racket or by hand. Here are the results'Tennis is a branch of sport applied both in performance andrecreational activity. As in other sports it is observed that in teachingtennis, there are certain conflicts and defects in methodology. In order todeter how effective the motor learning skills is that we have establishedtwo work groups from among those youth is newly starting tennis: onegroup working on the ball thrown by rackets and the other on the ballsthrown by hands. The results obtained in two different training tests werecompared. The research team was compared of 22 male students studying atthe Mannara University Physical Education and Sports School, FirstClass. Their age average was 19.27±1.79, weight average 71.72±10.64and height average 178.59 ± 8.31 Those who took this test never playedtennis before. They formed two teams of 11 students each. One team wastrained in balls thrown by the hand and the other in balls thrown by theracket. In the motor skill learning, the classification of Gentile andcolleagues was applied in tennis, and the balls were hit. In this model, each group worked on the training model prepared in the court. Studentsparticipated in activities lasting 90 minutes, three times a week. Thework continued 12 weeks. Each student participating in the work hit the ball 360 times andcompleted 9750 hits at the end of a three months experiment. The motorlearning skill was measured by the Hewit test. The participants weretested four times. The first Hewit test was applied at the very outset ofthe work. The second, third and fourth Hewit tests were carried out aftereach participant completed 3250 hits.Consequently tho motor skill development points obtained in theHewit tests by the working team which hit back the ball thrown byrackets and the points obtained by the other team which hit back the ballthrown by the hand comparedThe comparison was virtually meaningless (p>0.05) , namely themot6or skill development points obtained by both work teams were veryclose to one another. The comparison between the test results obtained inthe group showed an increase in the point values of the two groups. Thiswas statistically meaningful (p<0.05).en_US
