Y The ACA's which were started to be used as a diagnostic criteria for autoimmune rheumatoid diseases in recent years were investigated in 57 patients with RA diagnosis,46 patients with syphilis and 53 healthy blood donors.Within these patient groups, the serological parameters like positive RF and VDRL were also evaluated. In the RA diagnosed patient group, the ACA positive ratio was determined as 31.57% (5.26 % IgG ACA (+), 26.31 % IgM ACA (+) ).However, this ratio was calculated to be 56.52 % in the patient group with syphilis ( 41.30 % IgG and IgM ACA (+) together, 4.35 % IgG, 10.87 % IgM ACA (+) ). The positive IgM ACA results in the patient group with RA were found to be significantly different (p<0.05) than the control group. When the patient group with syphilis were examined, both the IgG and IgM ACA positive results were observed to be significantly different (p<0.05) than the control group. A significant relationship between RF and ACA's were not observed. VDRL positive results were only observed to be present in the syphilitic group and the relationship between the VDRL titers and ACA ELISA positive results was found to be significant (p<0.05). ACA positive results are seen in autoimmune rheumatoid diseases.Together with this, high frequency ACA positive results are present in syphilis infections.Due to this fact, elimination of the syphilis infection possibility in the ACA (+) patients with rheumatological diseases by a treponemal test was thought to be necessary. 55en_US
