ÖZET HUGHES PROBLEMİ HAKKINDA ERCAN, GUI in Doktora Tezi, Matematik Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi: Doç.Dr.îsmail Ş.GUloğlu Haziran 1988, 43 Sahi f e G sonlu bir grup, n farklı asal sayıların çarpımı ve n n sayı sını bölen* asal sayıların oluşturduğu küme olsun. H (G)=<xeGx1Vl> olarak tanımlansın. Bu çalışmada G n-grup olmadığı takdirde, H (G) altgrubunun G içindeki indeksinin n sayısını' böldüğü ispatlanmıştır. Ayrıca G/H (G) bölüm grubunun yapısı ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Bu sonuç Hughes ve Thompson ta rafından elde edilen bir sonucun genellemesi dır. In this work, we prove that the index of H (G). in G must divide n under the assumption that G is not a n=group where ji is the set of all prime divisors of n. Moreover, we determine the structure of G/H (G). This generalizes a result of Hughes and Thompson. Furthermore, the structure of a finite solvable group H admitting an automorphism a of prime order is studied and a bound for the Fitting length of H is obtained without the assumption (o(a),H)=1. ?Ill'
