Abstract

ABSTRACK The aim of this study is to examine the studies in Arabic Literature during the Mamluks. The study consists of three chapters, excluding Introduction and Conclusion. In Introduction, the political, social and cultural situation of this period was tried to explained. The First Chapter examined various types of poetry in term of `subject`, `form`, concept` and `meaning` along with poetric texts chosen from different poets, following the explanation of the general characteristic of Arabic poetry in this period. The Second Chapter dealt with the general characteristic of Arabic prose and its different forms as well as Art of Literary Composition, Story, Makama and Oratory under the heading of Literary Prose, and Encyclopedic Studies under the heading of Scientific Prose. The Third Chapter included information about studies carried out in the fields of Lexicography, Grammar, Rhetoric, and Literary Criticism as well as leading Linguists in this period. In Conclusion Chapter, we summarized the position of Arabic Literature detailed in previous chapters.
