Sosyal bilgiler 6. sınıf kitabında `Demokrasinin serüveni` ünitesinin kavram haritası ve öğretim etkinliği yönünden incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, kavram haritası tekniğinin öğretim etkinliği yönünden öğrenci başarısına etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaca ulaşmak için ilköğretim 6. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler dersi `Demokrasinin Serüveni` ünitesini içeren kavram haritaları hazırlanmış ve öğrencilere sunulmuştur. Yapılan uygulama sonucunda öğrencilerin başarı düzeyleri incelenmiştir. Araştırma 2016-2017 öğretim yılının 2. döneminde Manisa ili, Demirci ilçesi Fatih Ortaokulu'nun 6/A ve 6/B sınıflarında öğretim gören 45 öğrenci üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmada Demokrasinin Serüveni ünitesi boyunca deney grubunda bulunan öğrencilere kavram haritalarıyla desteklenen bir eğitim sunulurken, kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere ise Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı'nın öngördüğü şekilde yapılandırıcı yaklaşım ile ders işlenmiştir. Araştırmada Yarı Deneme Modellerinden Eşitlenmemiş Kontrol Gruplu Model kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı daha önceki merkezi sınavlarda sorulan üniteye uygun sorulardan oluşturulmuştur. Deney sürecinde önce gruplara ön test, deney sonrasında ise son test uygulanarak sonuçlar karşılaştırılmıştır.Karşılaştırılan sonuçlar neticesinde kavram haritası tekniğinin öğretim üzerindeki etkisinin tespit edilmeye çalışıldığı deney grubunda, kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı bir fark oluşmuştur. Bu da kavram haritası tekniğinin `Demokrasinin Serüveni` ünitesi üzerindeki anlamlılığını ortaya koyar niteliktedir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Kavram, Kavram Haritası, Sosyal Bilgiler, Demokrasinin Serüveni

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of the concept mapping technique on student success in terms of teaching effectiveness. To achieve this aim, concept maps were prepared and presented to the students with the 6th grade Social Sciences lesson `Adventure of Democracy` unit. As a result of the exercise, the success levels of the students were examined. The research was applied on 45 students who were educated in 6 / A and 6 / B classes of Fatih Secondary School of Demirci District in Manisa Province, during the second period of 2016-2017 academic year. During the Democracy's Adventure Unit, students in the experimental group were given a training supported by concept maps while the students in the control group were taught with a structured approach as dictated by the Ministry of National Education. In the study, Unequal Control Group Model was used from Semi-Trial Models. The data collection tool was created from the questions that were asked in the previous central examinations. In the experimental period, pre-test was applied to the groups firstly and post-test was applied after the experiment. Then, these results were compared. In the experimental group in which the effect of the concept mapping technique on teaching was tried to be determined as a result of the compared results, a meaningful difference was found compared to the control group. This proves the significance of the concept map technique on the `Adventure of Democracy` unit.Key Words: Concept, Concept Map, Social Sciences, Adventure of Democracy
