The New York Times gazetesine göre Doğu Türkistan meselesi (1933-1960)

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türklerin XX. yy'da Doğu Türkistan'daki milli mücadelelerinin dış basına yansımalarını incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda, Amerika'nın en büyük tirajlı gazetelerinden olan The New York Times gazetesi incelenmiştir. Bu incelemenin sonucunda, Çin'in yapmış olduğu propagandalar ve sansürlerden dolayı, Türklerin Doğu Türkistan'da özgürlükleri için verdikleri mücadele dünyakamoyunda çok fazla yer almadığı görülmüştür. Dış basında daha çok Doğu Türkistan'nın önemli stratejik konumu ve doğal kaynakları konusu yer almıştır.

The purpose of this study is to examine the reflections of the Turkish national struggle in the East Turkestan in the 20 th century to the foreign press. Accordingly, we examined The New York Times, one of largest circulated newspapers in America. As a result of this review, because of the propaganda and censorship of China, ıt was seen that the struggle of the Turks for their freedom in eastren Turkestan did take not taken place much in the world press. The most important foreign strategic position of East Turkestan and its natural resources were in the foreign press.
