Ionia bölgesi kurucu (Oikistes/Ktistes) mitosları

Abstract

Ktistes (κτίστης) , kentlerin tanrısal, kahramansal veya tarihsel kurucularınaverilen isimdir. Arkaik Dönem'de koloni kurucularına verilen oikistes (οἰκιστής)unvanının yerini, Hellenistik Dönem'de ve özellikle de Roma Dönemi'nde ktistes alır.Antik Dönem'de kent kurucuları, oikistes ve ktistes dışında bazı durumlarda arkhegetes(ἀρχηγέτης=önder) veya arkhegos (ἀρχηγός) kelimeleri karşılamaktadır. Kent kuruluşmitosları hakkında geleneksel görüş, kolonizasyon sürecinde göç eden Hellenhalklarının Anadolu'ya geçerek burada yerli halkla savaştıkları ve burada kentlerikurduklarıdır.Başlangıçlar önemlidir. Başlangıç; gündemi, tonu ve standardı belirler. AntikDönem'de özellikle şehirlerin, devletlerin ve halkların kökenleri hakkındaki, başlangıçhikâyelerine karşı büyük bir ilgi vardır. Bu hikayelerde, mitoslar tarihsel gerçekliklebirleştirilerek anlatılır. Ancak mitos (hikâye) ve tarih (gerçeklik) terimleri bir birbirinezıt ifadelerdir. Bazı kentlerin, kuruluş mitosları ve mitolojik ktistes hikayeleri,Anadolu'da yaşayan yerli halka karşı yapılan savaş ve baskıları anlatmaktadır.Bu çalışmada, Kolonizasyon Dönemi'nde Ionia'ya geçen Hellen halklarınınkurduğu kentler ve bu kentlerin mitolojik kuruluş öyküleri, ktistes'leri (kurucukahramanları), inanç ve kültürleri incelenmektedir. Çalışmada kullanılan veriler, EskiHellen ve Roma İmparatorluk Dönemi antik edebi kaynaklardan, epigrafik bulgular,kabartma ve heykel buluntuları ile kentlerin bastırmış olduğu sikkelerden eldeedilmiştir.

Ktistes (κτίστης) is the name given to the divine, heroic or historical founders ofcities. The title of oikistes (οἰκιστής) which was given to the founders of the colony inthe Archaic Period, was replaced by the ktistes in the Hellenistic Period and especiallyin the Roman Imperial Period. In ancient times, other than oikistes and ktistes the cityfounders could also be indicated with the words arkhegetes (ἀρχηγέτης = leader) orarkhegos (ἀρχηγός) in some cases. The traditional view of the city myths is that theHellenic people who migrated during the Colonization Period came to Anatolia, foughtwith the locals and founded cities there.The origins of a city are important. Its origin determines the future agenda, toneand standard of the city. There was a great deal of interest in the ancient period,especially about the origins of cities, states and peoples. In these stories, myths arecombined with historical reality. However, the terms mithos (story) and history (reality)are opposite expressions. The stories of mythology and mythological ktistes of somecities tell about the wars and raids against the indigenous people of Anatolia.In this study, the cities founded by Hellenic settlers who came to Ionia duringthe Colonization Period and the mythological foundation stories, ktistes (founderheroes), beliefs and cultures of these cities are examined. The data used in the studywere obtained from the ancient literary sources of the ancient Hellenistic and RomanImperial Periods, inscriptions, sculpture finds, and coins minted by those cities.
