In the present study tendency of glaucoma was investigated in the patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) diagnosed by using polysomnography (PSG) method by using computerized visual field analyzer and colored doppler ultrasonography, also vascular pathology related with glaucoma was clarified in these patients.Sixty eyes of 30 cases with OSAS diagnosed by using PSG method and 60 eyes of 30 control cases with similar sex distribution were included in this study. Standart ophthalmological examination were performed on patients. Routine eye examinations of the patients were performed and the corneal thicknesses were measured by pachimetry. Visual field examinations were performed with Humprey automatic perimetry by using central 30-2 SITA (Swedish İnteractive Thresholding Algorithm)-Standart and central 30-2 SWAP (Short Wavelength Automated Perimetry) test programme. Orbital Doppler Ultrasonographic examination was performed on patients and controls. Also blood flow velocities were calculated on ophthalmic artery (OA), central retinal artery (SRA) and posterior ciliar artery (PSA) with colored doppler ultrasonography.Among the visual field parameters determined by using central 30-2 SWAP programme of the patients with OSAS, mean deviation (MD) were significantly lower(p<0,05) ; RI of ciliar artery were significantly higher (p<0,05) and EDV of ciliar artery were significantly lower(p<0,05) in these patients when compared with the contol group. As a result, it was concluded that patients with OSAS might have a tendency for glaucoma so, these patients should be followed closely due to the risk of glaucoma.en_US
