dc.description.abstractVNurhan KiremitçiArtistic Usages of Decorative Elements between and 1850-1950SUMMARY?Decoration? word,which was seen in the documents for the first time in1971 ,is used for all the objects that are made for the ornament. After receiving basicnecessities ,people search aestetich and ornement behind the function of the things.Itcaused the concept of craftman who add aestetic to things. Artists were thought ascraftsman becausse of painting was thought as art .It is chanded by Renaissance sopainting turn into an art that artists explain their ideas freely .Decoratif art and Fine art which based on creativity from desingn phase toapplyment phase sometimes close and sometims far away from the each other.In thecentury between 1850 and 1950 this approach finds a possibility of determinedexplanation .By Arts and Crafts artists try to remove the difference between craft andart .They worked to give strength to hand work aganist machine .Art Nouveau artistconnect their decoratif interests whit twisted lines and use geometric shapes some ofthe sybolizm artist gave strength to their symbolic paintings by using theseitems.Whith Bauhaus and de Stijl movement ,paintings started to simplify andinterest to the geometric shapes which are used in decoratif art too,increases.Bauhauswanted to create the master artist who have talent of a craftman and also creativity ofan artist.In 1920s ,Art Deco movement gave aplace to ornament and decoration again.In this work these artist movements take place as movements that have thefeeling of decoration effect.There is a different part for he 19.yy. artist Gustav Kilmt who succesded theconnection between its paintings with a decoratif manner.VIIn the last part ;effects of decoratif items in many paintings take charge ofsuch as other artist in the work and it is tried to explain of turning to an artisticexplanation.KEY WORDS:Decorative, Aesthetic, Craftsman, Design,Adormenten_US
