Pertevniyal Valide Sultan`ın vakıfları ve Mahmudiye Merkez Rüşdiyesi

Abstract

Osmanlı Devleti'nde vakıflar ve vakıflar aracılığıyla kurulan tesisler toplumun refahı için önemli bir yer teşkil etmiştir. Kurulan onlarca vakıf içerisinde valide sultanlara ait vakıflar, sayıca az olmalarına rağmen işleyişleri bakımından geniş yer kapsamıştır. Cömertliğini ve merhametini vakıfları vasıtasıyla gösteren, ardında çok sayıda eser bırakan valide sultanlardan biri de Pertevniyal Valide Sultan olmuştur. Sultan II. Mahmud'un eşi, Sultan Abdülaziz'in annesi olan Pertevniyal Valide Sultan, zengin mal varlığını devletin ve halkın menfaatine harcamaktan geri durmamıştır. Valide Sultan'ın yaptırdığı bilinen en önemli eseri Aksaray'da bulunan, önceleri külliye görünüme sahip olan Pertevniyal Valide Sultan Cami'sidir.Pertevniyal Valide Sultan, oğlu üzerinde güçlü otorite oluşturarak, valide sultanlığı boyunca ciddi bir siyasi nüfuza sahip olmuştur. Bu nüfuz, Valide Sultan'a geniş haklar ve büyük bir saygınlık sağlamıştır. Bu sayede, kadınefendiliği döneminde başladığı vakıf işleri valide sultanlık döneminde zirveye ulaşmıştır. Çok sayıda mabedin yapım-onarımı ile meşgul olmuş, ihtiyaç sahiplerine çeşitli yardımlarda bulunmuştur. Oğlu Sultan Abdülaziz'in ölümünün ardından mütevazi bir hayatı tercih ederek hayır işlerine devam etmiştir. Pertevniyal Valide Sultan'ın günümüze dek gelebilen eserleri arasında eşi Sultan II. Mahmud adına yaptırdığı Mahmudiye Merkez Rüşdiye Mektebi de bulunmaktadır. Mektep, Valide Sultan'ın vakfı aracılığıyla eğitime ve ıslahatlara verdiği desteğin en kalıcı örneğidir. In Ottoman Empire, waqfs and facilities built through the waqfs have an important place for the welfare of the people. Among the tens of waqfs, valide sultans' waqfs were few in number but they had a wide influence area with their services. One of the Valide Sultans who showed her generosity and mercy through her waqfs and left so many works behind her was Pertevniyal Valide Sultan. Pertevniyal Valide Sultan, the wife of Sultan Mahmud II and the mother of Sultan Abdülaziz, Pertevniyal Valide Sultan did not hesitate to spend her wealth to good of the state and the public. Pertevniyal Valide Sultan's most important charity work has been the Pertevniyal Valide Sultan Mosque in Aksaray which used to have an appearance like a complex. By having a strong authority over her son, Pertevniyal Valide Sultan, had a serious political influence throughout her years as a Valide Sultan. The influence she had, provided her with broad rights and high incomes. Thus, the waqf works that she had started while she was just a Kadınefendi, topped out during the period that she was a Valide Sultan. She was busy with construction-repair works of a large number of sanctuary and she provided financial support to those in need. After the death of her son Abdülaziz, choosing a more modest life, Pertevniyal Valide Sultan continued to do her charity works even after her years as a Valide Sultan. Among the countless charity works that Pertevniyal Valide Sultan's the extant works of her, Mahmudiye Central Rushdiye School that she had it made for the name of her husband Sultan Mahmud II reflects the support she gave to both education and reforms.
