Adana-Sarıçam Orman İşletme Şefliği`ndeki Halep çamı (Pinus halepensis mill.) meşcerelerinde kuruluş özellikleri ve silvikültürel öneriler

Abstract

Bu çalısmada, Adana-Sarıçam Orman sletme Sefligi'ndeki Halep çamı (Pinushalepensis Mill.) mescerelerinin kurulus özellikleri arastırılarak, bu mescerelerinarzu edilen kuruluslara ulasabilmesi için uygulanabilecek silvikültürel islemlerdegerlendirilmistir. Mescere kuruluslarını ortaya koyabilmek amacıyla, Halep çamımescerelerinden 6 adet örnek alan seçilmis ve bu örnek alanlara ait tepeprojeksiyonları alınarak mescere profilleri çizilmistir. Ayrıca, türün dogalgençlesmesi ve dogal gençlesmenin ekolojik kosullarına yönelik gözlem ve tespitlerdebulunulmustur.Yöredeki Halep çamı mescereleri genellikle saf, aynı yaslı ve tek tabakalı birkurulusa sahiptir. Mescereler direklik çagında olup, gevsek veya ısıklı kapalılık sözkonusudur. Gövde kaliteleri nispeten düsüktür. Arastırma alanındaki mescerekurulusları arzu edilen kuruluslardan biraz uzak olup, bu kurulusların olusmasındaözellikle usulsüz kesimler, otlatmacılık ve bakım çalısmalarının yetersizligi önemli roloynamaktadır. Ülkemizde varlıgı sınırlı olan bu türün yöredeki yayılıs alanlarıkoruma altına alınmalı; ayrıca, mevcut mescere kurulusları isletme amacına uygunbir sekilde düzenlenmelidir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Halep Çamı, Mescere Kurulusu, Silvikültürel slemler

In this study, structural attributes of Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis Mill.) standsin Sarıçam Forest Subdistrict Headquarters, Adana were investigated, andsilvicultural treatments to be applied to obtain goal structures of these stands wereevaluated. Six sample plots were selected from Aleppo pine stands to determine thestand structures, and crown projections were taken and stand profiles were drawnfor these sample plots. In addition, observations and determinations relating tonatural regeneration of the species and ecological conditions of natural regenerationwere made.Aleppo pine stands in the region had generally a pure, even-aged and onestoriedstructure. The stands were in pole stage and had loose or lightened closure.Stem quality was relatively low. The stand structures in the study area were little farfrom the goal structures. Especially illegal cuttings, grazing and insufficient tendingactivities have been played an important role on occurring of these structures. Thedistribution areas of this species, of which existence is limited in Turkey, in the regionshould be protected, and the existing stands structures should be arranged in a waysuitable management objective.Key Words: Aleppo Pine, Stand Structure, Silvicultural Treatments
