dc.description.abstract- 131 SUMMARY This research has been conducted at the Depart ment of hpysiology, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine on albi no type male and female rabbits (1500-2000 gr b.w.) and 2.5-3 months old male and female Balb-C mice (25-30 gr b.w.) A-B groups of mice have been gathered into 3 groups, tha are; 1)Control, 2)Normal rabbit serum injected, 3)endotoxic serum injected. In these eroupa Leukopoe.fi i s has been evaluated depending on the bone marrow and pe ripheric blood Leucocyte values. An increase in the peripheral blood leucocyte va lue has been observed in the endotoxic serum injected group (p ^0.001). In the leucovyte formula an increase in the segment ed neutrophils parcentage has been recor ded (p<^0.001). In the formula myeloblasts, promye locy t s, myelocyts and metamyelocyts has been seen and the per centage of the bands increased. In bone marrow an increase both in myleoid series and megakaryocytes` has been obser ved. But contrary to thi s a decrease in the erythroid se ries has been observed. The change in M/E ratio has been found the significant in the endotoxic serum injected group (p^.0.001). In Control and normal serum injected groups very slight and statistically in significant (p<^0.90) changes in the peripheral blood leucocyte value hes been seen. In the peripheral blood leucocyte value has been seen. In Leucocyte formula very slight changes in segmented neutrophils and lympocyts percentages has been observed (p<0.90, p<^0.50). In all- 132 - the groups the lympocyte percentage has been found simi lar to each other in the bone marrow table. Conclusively, the peripheral blood leucocyte va lues showed that leukopoesis increases in the endotoxic serum injected group. It has been concluded that, the stimulation of leukopoies is by endotoxic serum injec tion, CSF (Colony Stimulating Factor) forming in the rabbits may stimulate bone marrow either directly or indirectly by emptying the bone marrow cells and also that this factor may made function in physiologic regu lation of leukopoies is.
