dc.description.abstract- 48 - SUMMARY In our study we examined experimentally, if there is any difference in the parameters effecting blood serum, pro duced either by mechanical or postoperative bone injury in normal and diabetic patients. We made our experimental studies in University of Is tanbul, at Experimental Medical Research Department (DETAM) on 120 male Wistar-Albino rats. In our research we used four groups including experi mental and control groups. To produce diabet in rats we in jected a substance named streptozotosin 65 mg/kg intravene- ously. We produced an incomplete fracture in our experiment animals. On the first, second and fifth days we took 10 cc blood by disposable syringes from these animals and obtained their serum. We made our biochemical studies at the Biochemistry Laboratory of Internal Diseases Section University of Istan bul. We evaluated the laboratory results of the parameters as Calcium, Phosphate, Glucose, Alkalene Phosphate, total- 49 - protein and albumine we obtained from serum statistically. As a result of the data, we found that the value of total protein and albumine was low in the nondiabetic group after injury. We considered this as a result of ACTH secretion which is higher in the presence of injury. We found that the value of alkalene phosphate was higher in the nondiabetic group after injury. We considered this as a result of the osteoblastic activity that is seen after injury. We found a decrease in the nondiabetic group after injury. We thought that this was because of the organisms Calcium transfer from the circulation for new bone formation. We didn't find any difference in the phosphate values of both groups after injury.
