dc.description.abstract64 In consequence of these results, solvents which from only a part of thousands of chemicals used in the industry affect undoubtfully workers' health. Defects caused by solvents on workers ' mental functions are essential factors in happening other professional illnesses and accidents. As individual mental structure of great importance is awared of espacially happening work accidents, workers using such substances should be subject to pyschotechnical examinations at the beginning and afterwards periodically. Additionally since individual mental capacity is also connected with other environmental factors, such factors should be eliminated, and mental regression should be referred to solvents. Therefore, as stated hereinabove, acceptance examinations and pyschotechnical examinations are of great importance.63 consideration upon two test groups, they showed significant lownesses for judiciousness and abstraction abilities and attention function by comparison with the control group. The verbal intelligence points averages of the control and test groups were within the limits (90-110) considered by Wechsler as normal. Although such averages complied with the norms, the significance between the control and test groups' averages might be estimated as an indication of solvent efficiency, and in other words, one might state that solvent efficiency caused an inhibition on different mental functions. As a result of WMS application, difference between the averages obtained in the `Mental Control` subtest measuring the painters ' and adhesion workers ' mental training were considerable. This result is an indication of non-chronic mental damage on the subjects. Such non-chronic damage is the best warning to take necessary measures. The general group assembling Test-1 and Test-2 groups showed a significant point lowness as regards attention function and visual memory in comparison with the control group. Any defect in abstraction ability, mental component (visual memory), concentration ability and attention function from mental functions indicates mental damage for the subjects. As well, WMS' s `Personal and Current Information` and `Orientation` subtests did not show any significance. The questions in these subtests are difficult for the persons with an advanced mental illness to answer, and not being significant of such difference between the values obtained for the test and control groups indicates that the symptoms were not transformed into syndromes.64 In consequence of these results, solvents which from only a part of thousands of chemicals used in the industry affect undoubtfully workers' health.
