Ateroskleroza duyarlı ve dirençli türlerde plazma lesitin-kolesterol acil transferaz aktivitesi

Abstract

- 22 - ÖZET Çalışmalarımızda insan, sıçan, kobay ve tavşan larda plazma lesitin kolesterol acil transferaz (LCAT) aktivitesi ve plazma kolesterol, serbest kolesterol, HDL-kolesterol düzeyleri ile fosfolipit ve HDL-fosfo- lipit düzeyleri ölçüldü. Ayrıca eritrosit kolesterol ve fosfolipit düzeyleri tayin edildi. Böylece ateros- kleroza dirençli ve duyarlı türlerde bu göstergelerde ki değişiklikler incelenmek istendi. Sonuçlarımıza göre; a) Plazma LCAT aktivitesinin ateroskleroza dirençli ve duyarlı türlerde bir değişiklik göstermediği, b) Plazma serbest kolesterol yüzdesinin, fosfolipit/ HDL-fosfolipit ve HDL-kolesterol/HDL-fosfolipit oranlarının ateroskleroza duyarlı kobay ve tavşan larda artma eğilimi gösterdiği bulundu.

- 23 - SUMMARY In our study, plasma lecithin-cholesterol acyl transferase activitiy (LCAT) and plasma cholesterol, free cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol levels as well as phospholipid and HDL-phospholipid levels were deter mined in humans, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits. In ad dition, erythrocyte cholesterol and phospholipid le vels were measured. Thus, we have attempted to investigate whether these parameters were altered in species resistant and susceptible to atherosclerosis. According to our results; a) LCAT activity is found unchanged in plasma of spe cies resistant and susceptible to atherosclerosis. b) Free cholesterol percentage, the ratio of plasma total phospholipid to HDL-phospholipid and the ratio of HDL-cholesterol to phospholipid were found to have tendency to increase, in species sus ceptible to atherosclerosis such as guinea pig and rabbit.
