The Levant Herald: Muhalif bir gazetenin bakış açısıyla Osmanlı`da sosyal ve ekonomik durum (1865 yılı)

Abstract

Bu çalışmada The Levant Herald Gazetesi?nin bakış açısıyla Osmanlı Devleti?nin 1865 yılı ekonomik ve sosyal görünümü analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Tez üç bölümden meydana gelmektedir. Tezin birinci bölümünde gazete ile ilgili bilgi verilmiş, yayın dönemleri, yayın politikası ve Bab-ı Ali olan ilişkileri ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde gazetenin Osmanlı coğrafyasında meydana gelen ekonomik gelişmeleri işleyiş biçimi analiz edilmiş ve önemli gelişmeler aktarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Üçüncü bölüm ise sosyal gelişmelere ayrılmıştır.

In this study the social and economic profile of Ottoman State in 1865 year are analyzed from the point of view of The Levant Herald Newspaper. The thesis has three parts. In the first chapter, general information about the Newspaper, it`s publishing periods, policy and relations with Sublime Porte are discussed. The newspaper`s approaches to economic improvements in Ottoman geography are analyzed and important events are narrated in the second chapter. Social events are dealt with in the third chapter.
