dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to determine the formation ofthe caliches and the Mediterranean Red Soils and their relationshipslying on the terraces of the Northwestern Adana. The results of thisstudy revealed that the caliche and soil materials were formed froma Pliocene clay deposit and a close relationship is found betweenthem. These formations were connected with the Pleistocene climaticfluctuations and during these formations the great occurance ofdissolution, recrystallisation, neoformation, illuviation and pedoturbationprocesses are determined.en_US
