dc.description.abstractÖZET Bu çalışmada Standard Methods' a göre MBAS metodu ile deniz suyunda LAS' m tayini esnasında görülen mahzurlar incelendi. Bu tayinin esası sudan ekstraksiyon sonunda teşekkül eden LAS - boya kompleksini spektrofotometrede analizine dayanır. Deniz suyunda LAS' in tayinine ait çözümlenen problemler aşağıda verilmiştir.
T In this study, some inconveniences observed by the application of the Standard Methods were investigated in determination of LAS in sea water by MBAS method. The assay is based on the analysis by spectrophotometer using the colour formed of LAS - dye complex. The problems observed in assay of LAS in seawater were solved as mentioned below. Extraction time with chloroform in seawater was changed from 3 x 1 5 ml as described in the Standard Methods to 6 x 15 ml. It gave the best result. The blank prepared with chloroform omitting LAS in the assay as described in the Standard Methods provided correct results as against the use of chloroform as blank. The effect of salinity of sea water on the assay was examined by adding in water the salts of different origins, such as commercial salt, sodium chlorides of Baker and Merck. Different salt amount was added in distilled water for similar to salinity of differing sea waters. The best results were obtained with the commercial salt since it had been produced from sea water and contained the factors therein. Various correlation equations were calculated for different origin and concentration 18, 22 and 34 %o of the salts. Hence a correlation equation calculated from the calibration equations obtained with %o 18, 22, 34 is proposed to solve the difficulties as indicated above. Among this a correlation equation was choice. Thus one equation can be utilised to prevent the inconveniences practiced by the Standard Methods. inen_US
