Abstract

In the Ottoman Empire time, Turks were settled in Rumeli because of thestate politics. When the Ottoman Empire was in ?Backwards Period?, migrationschanged the direction. After Bulgarians gained their independence , they started tomake pressure to the Turkish minority in Bulgaria . The restrictions in education,land collectivization, the pressure of the new comunist regime and Soviet Union forsome reasons started the 1950 ? 1951 migration.The Bulgarian goverment intended to send the whole 250.000 persons asmentioned in the Bulgarian Note of the 10 August 1950 to Turkey and thenmigration got started. Approximately in 15 months 140 thousand people migrated toTurkey. During this period, Turkish and Bulgarian goverments gave notes to eachother. Through the end of year 1951, Turkish goverment closed frontier due to thepeople with faked visas and Gypsies. Thus, from the beginning of 1950 to the endof 1951, 154.393 immigrants came to Turkey.The migrations are made by pressure against some contracts and particularlythe Settlement Contract (1925) which arranges the migrations between Turkey andBulgaria.The immigrants came to Turkey under the condition of their assets andcommodities were taken. Despite the fact that, Turkish goverment and Turkishcitizens supported immigrants and they were given the rights of having state land.Therefore, enough land were provided to settle the immigrants.The immigrants worked in Turkey as a farmer, and as a factory worker orthey worked in free professions. The motivation of immigrants to social life inTurkey was more difficult than the motivation to economic life. Various credits,special settlements, land and animal supports, tax and military exemptions weregiven to help the immigrants.viiIn conclusion the stable politics of the Turkish goverment and the support ofTurkish people made Bulgarian Goverment efforts useless to weaken the Turkisheconomy. Turkey managed to become successfull during this hard migrationperiod

İn this study, Atatürk and Turkish Revolution has been tried to be explained by point of view of Falih Rıfkı Atay who had lived a too long period consisting of the last era of Ottoman Empire to the proclaim of Turkish Rebuplic and the post Atatürk time.İn the first part of this two part study, after Falih Rıfkı Atay?s attitude and the information about his meeting with Atatürkis expressed, Atatürk?s humanist characteristic, military personality and his leadership has been dealt within aspect of Falih Rıfkı Atay. As for the second part, the ideas of Falih Rıfkı Atay about Turkish Republic, and also several points of him about post Atatürk time have taken part. Hence, it?s aimed to reveal his general vision of Atatürk and his revolutions.Atay had a strong loyalty to Atatürk?s revolutions which are constituted to keep Turkiye contemporary, and to have its own liberty and to raise Turkiye to the level of Western societies, and he had been the head defender of this ideology. He, himself had not deviated from the course he had devised, and he had been a writer who had not ever hesitated to use his pen for the sake of his norms. He, the monutary writer who has his strenous carrirer in Turkish literatür and pres histary, has taken that name not only with the main gist of his articles but also with his attitude of expressing, has died of a heart attact on Mach 1971.
