Urla civarı doğa okullarının ekoturizm kavramı içindeki önemi

Abstract

Ekoturizm, tüm doğa temelli turizm türlerini kapsayan ve turistin doğal alanlarda hüküm süren geleneksel kültürleri gözlemlemesi ve değerlendirmesi şeklinde tanımlanmaktadır. Ayrıca ekoturizm, çevre, eğitim ve ekonomi alanlarını kapsadığı turizm aktivitelerinin bir türü olup, kişilere bilgi aktarmak ve yerel ekonomiye katkı sağlamak için çevreyi koruyarak kaynakları kullanmanın sürdürülebilir bir yolu olarak kabul edilir. Doğal yapısının göz alıcı ve ikliminin elverişli olmasından dolayı İzmir'in Urla ilçesi ekoturizm açısından önemli ve ekoturizm faaliyetleri için oldukça elverişlidir. Doğa okullarında yapılan etkinlikler de ekoturizm kavramını kapsamaktadır. Bu araştırmada Urla civarında bulunan doğa okullarının ekoturizm kavramı içindeki önemini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır.Araştırmaya İzmir'in Urla ilçesinde yaşayan doğa okuluna daha önce katılmış 22 kişi, katılmamış 142 kişi, gitmeyi düşünen yedi kişi alınmıştır. Katılımcılara demografik özellikleri, ekoturizm ve doğa okulları kavramları bilinç algısı, daha önce herhangi bir doğa okulunda bulunma durumu ve doğa okullarının ekoturizm kavramına katkısının sorulduğu 25 soruluk bir anket uygulanmıştır. Sorulara verilen yanıtların sıklık dereceleri bulunmuştur.Anket sonuçlarına göre katılımcılar Urla'da yapılan ekoturizm faaliyetleri ile doğa okullarında yapıldığını düşündüğü aktivitelerin aynı olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Daha önce doğa okuluna katılan kişilerin, memnun kaldıklarını, tekrar gitmek istediklerini ve başka kişilere de tavsiye edeceklerini belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcılar, doğa okullarının ekoturizme katkısı olduğunu, yerel ekonomiye ve devlet ekonomisine katkısı olduğunu düşünmekte ve doğa okullarının yaygınlaştırılmasının bir devlet politikası haline getirilmesini istemektedirler.

Ecotourism is defined as the observation and evaluation of traditional cultures that cover all types of nature-based tourism and which dominate the natural areas. In addition, ecotourism is a type of tourism activity that encompasses the environment, education and economy, and is considered as a sustainable way of using resources while protecting the environment in order to provide information to people and contribute to the local economy. Izmir's Urla district is important for ecotourism and is very suitable for ecotourism activities because of its natural structure and attractive climate. Activities in nature schools also cover the concept of ecotourism. In this research, it is aimed to determine the importance of nature schools in the area of Urla in the concept of ecotourism.Twenty two people who attended the nature school in Urla district of İzmir, 142 people who did not participate in nature school before and seven people who thought to go were included in the study. The participants were asked a questionnaire consisting of 25 questions about demographic characteristics, ecotourism and the perception of the concepts of nature schools, their presence in any nature school and the contribution of nature schools to the concept of ecotourism. The frequency of the answers given to the questions is indicated.According to the survey results; the participants stated that the ecotourism activities in Urla were the same as the activities that they thought were done in nature schools. We can say that people who have attended nature school before are satisfied, want to go again and recommend to others. The participants think that nature schools contribute to ecotourism, contribute to the local economy and the state economy, and they want the dissemination of nature schools to become a state policy.
