Asteraceae familyasına ait Senecio vernalis, Tanacetum tomentellum, Tanacetum polycephalum subsp. argyrophllum, Tanacetum aureum subsp. aureum, Achillea teretifolia, Crupina crupinastrum, Cousinia cirsioides ve Chrysanthemum coronarium taksonlarının etanol çözeltisi ekstraktlarının antimikrobiyal aktivitesi, disk difüzyon (DD) ve minimum inhibisyon konsantrasyon (MİK) yöntemi ile beş gram pozitif (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterococcus faecium, Enterococcus faecalis, Listeria monocytogenes), dokuz gram negatif bakteri (Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella kentucky, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella enteritidis, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Klebsiella pneumoniae) ve bir mantar (Candida albicans) olmak üzere 15 mikroorganizmaya karşı değerlendirilmiştir. T. tomentellum ve T. polycephalum subsp. argyrophllum etanol ekstraktları altı bakteriye karşı antimikrobiyal aktivite sergilemştir. T. aureum subsp. aureum ekstraktı beş bakteriye karşı, Achillea teretifolia dört bakteriye karşı Cousinia cirsioides ekstraktı iki bakteriye karşı antimikrobiyal aktivite sergilerken, S. vernalis, C. crupinastrum ve C. coronarium ekstraktları test edilen hiçbir mikroorganizmaya karşı herhangi bir aktivite göstermemiştir.
Antimicrobial activity of ethanol sollution extracts of Senecio vernalis, Tanacetum tomentellum, Tanacetum polycephalum subsp. argyrophllum, Tanacetum aureum subsp. aureum, Achillea teretifolia, Crupina crupinastrum, Cousinia cirsioides and Chrysanthemum coronarium species belong to Asteraceae was evaluated against fifteen microorganism which five of them gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterococcus faecium, Enterococcus faecalis, Listeria monocytogenes), nine gram negative bacteria (Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella kentucky, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella enteritidis, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Klebsiella pneumoniae) and one fungi (Candida albicans) by a disk diffusion (DD) and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method. Ethanol extracts of Tanacetum tomentellum and T. polycephalum subsp. argyrophllum showed antimicrobial activity against six bacteria, extract of T. aureum subsp. aureum show antimicrobial activity against five tested bacteria, extract of A. teretifolia against four bacteria and extract of C. cirsioides against two bacteria. Whereas extracts of Senecio vernalis, C. crupinastrum and C. coronarium did not show any activity against all tested microorganism.en_US
