Reliability and maintenance of a device with age dependent exponential failures

Abstract

ÖZET Bu çalışmada tek parçalı bir güvenirlik modelinin yasam dağılımı sınıflan dırması yapılmış ve en iyi onarım ve değiştirme problemleri incelenmiştir. Çalışma boyunca Markof karar kuramı ve dinamik programlama kullanılmış tır. Politika iyileştirme algoritmasını kullanarak dinamik programlama denk lemleri çözen bir bilgisayar programı tarafından üretilen çeşitli örnekler de sunulmuştur. Geleneksel endüstrilerde pek uygulama alanı bulamayan bu tip çalışmalar, karmaşık makina ve teknolojilerin gelişmesi sayesinde önem kazanmaktadır.

IV ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to analyze the lifetime distribution properties and optimal replacement and maintenance problems of a device under contin uous inspection. Markov decision theory and dynamic prograniming are the main tools that are used during the development of the thesis. A computer program solving dynamic programming equations by policy improvement al gorithm is also used to generate examples. Although classical maintenance models which bear to reliability theo reticians are not widely used in traditional industries} it is gaining more and more interest by the introduction of sophisticated and complex devices and technologies which are more sensetive to failure.
