Analysis of thermophoretic effect on deposition in gas turbines

Abstract

ÖZET Küçük parçacıkların türbin palaları üzerinde moleküler diffüz yon yolu ile birikmesini termoforesis etkisini de katarak model leyen teori verildi. Teori, hava ile soğutulan bir gaz türbininde yapılan birikme deneylerine uygulandı. Türbin pasajlarındaki potan siyel akış, pala yüzeylerindeki sınır tabakası akışı ve pala yüzey leri hesaplandı. Teorik ve deneysel sonuçlar karşılaştırıldı ve uyum içinde oldukları görüldü.

IV ABSTRACT The theory developed to predict diffusive deposition of fine particles on turbine blades including the effect of thermophores i s is stated. The model of the theory is applied to the deposition experiments in air cooled gas turbine. The potential flow in the turbine passages, the boundary layer flow over blade surfaces and blade surfaces are calculated. Theoretical and experimental results are compared. Results are seen to be in agreement.
