Flow and stability characteristios of geosynthetic reinforced asphaltic layer

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, asfalt karışımlarını kuvvetlendirmek amacıyla, geosentetik malzemeler, parçalar halinde asfalt ve agregayla karıştırılmıştır. Geosentetik malzeme kullanımının, asfalt karışımının stabilite ve deformasyon özellikleri üzerine etkisi, Marshall deneyleri ve ultrasonik ölçümlerle araştırılmıştır.Deneyleri geotekstil ve geogrid olmak üzere iki tip geosentetik malzeme üzerinde yapılmıştır. Denenen geotekstilde herhangi bir kuvvetlendirici etki gözlenmemiştir. Kullanılan geogridlerden bir tanesi olumlu sonuç vermiş ve asfalt tabakasının stabilite ve deformasyon özelliklerini iyileştirmiştir. II

ABSTRACT In this study, Geosynthetics are cut into pieces and mixed randomly with the aggregates and asphalt -for the purpose D-f rein-forcing asphalt mixes. The e-f-fect o-f this reinforcement on the stability and -flow characteristics D-f the asphalt mix is investigated by the means o-f Marshall test principle and ultrasonic measurements. Experiments are carried out -for two types of geosynthet ics, these are,geotext i les and geogrids.For the geotextile studied no improvements were achieved, while the geogrid cut as a patch was good enough to improve the stability and -flow characteristics o-f the asphaltic layer.
