Abstract
In the present study, a 3D hydrodynamic model is constructed and the detailed information on the numerical solution technique and the use of the produced software package is given. The model is a 3D solution of the Navier-Stokes equations with the o-coordinate transform in the vertical. The coupling of the layers is done via the vertical diffusion term which can be calculated either with constant eddy viscosity coefficient or with the Prandtl's mixing length concept. Results of either calculations are briefly compared and discussed. The prepared Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is very similar of today's most popular compilers', especially the ones produced by Borland International, Inc., while it is written by using Borland's Turbo Vision product. The Graphical Postprocessing Program is an easy to use object oriented graphical user interface with resizable, draggable, zoomable windows controlled with mouse and all the operations are done via the dialog boxes. The program gives the user plan view with contours and vector plots, time histories of points and sections, depth profiles, space profiles and contours of sections necessary for model debugging purposes and some helpful tools for presentation. vi
