İlköğretimde yabancı dil eğitimi (Doğu Marmara bölgesi Sakarya ili örneği)

Abstract

ÖZET Teknolojik gelişmelerin inanılmaz düzeye ulaştığı günümüzde, bu gelişimi ve değişimleri yakalamak şüphesiz tüm toplumların hedefidir. Bunu gerçekleştirmenin ilk adımının yabancı dil öğretilmesi olduğu görüşü birçok kesimce hakimdir. Bu düşünceyle ülkemizde eğitim kademelerinin ilki olan ilköğretimden başlayarak yabancı dil eğitimi verilmektedir. Fakat yabancı dil öğretimi, ülkemizde çeşitli düzeydeki okullarda önemli savurganlık alanlarından birisidir. İlköğretimden üniversite öğretimi sonuna değin, ortalama 10-12 yıl, haftada en az iki ile dört saat yabancı dil öğretimine ayrılmakta, ancak yine de üniversiteyi bitirenlerin çoğu yabancı dili özel dershanelerde öğrenmeye çalışmaktadırlar. Bu araştırmanın amacı Türk milletinin ileri uygarlık düzeyine ulaşmasındaki araçlardan biri olan yabancı dilin, ilköğretim okullarındaki eğitim sorunlarını irdelemek ve bu sorunları olası çözüm yollarını üretmektir. Eğitimin her alanında sürekli ve hızlı bir değişim olduğundan dolayı, Türk eğitim sistemini her alanında sürekli bu ve benzeri araştırmaların yapılması gerekliliği ortaya çıkmaktadır. Çalışmada ilk önce eğitim - öğretim kavramları ortaya konarak, konumuz bütünlüğünde Türk eğitim sistemine ve eğitim kademelerini kısaca değinilmiş, tezimizin konusu olan ilköğretim kademesinin eğitim sistemimizdeki yeri, önemi ve amaçlan anlatılmıştır. Ülkemizdeki yabancı dil eğitimine genel bir bakışla ilköğretim kademesinin yabancı dil eğitimindeki amaçlan açıklanmıştır. Yapılan anket çalışmalan, görüşme ve literatür taraması ile Türk Milli Eğitim sistemindeki ilköğretim kademesinde hedeflere nedenli ulaşılabildiği ve hangi sorunlarla karşılaşıldığı tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Sonuç bölümünde ise bu sorunlara atıfla çözüm önerileri üretilmiştir. Tezin kapsamı olarak doğu Marmara bölgesi belirlenmiş, anket çalışmaları için Sakarya ili baz alınmıştır. Anket çalışmasında eğitimin içerisinde yer alan öğretmen ve öğrenciler üzerinde durulmuştur. Sonuç olarak yabancı dil eğitim-öğretim programının günümüz şartlanna göre yeni yöntem ve öğretim tekniklerine uygun olarak ele alınması gerektiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Aynca eğitim yöntem ve malzemeleri belirlenirken, Türk eğitim sistemindeki okul ortamlan göz önünde bulundurmalıdır. Bununla paralel olarak öğretmenlerin hizmetiçi eğitimlerle yeni teknolojilere ve yöntemleri kullanmaya özendirilmesi gerektiği belirlenmiştir.

Nowadays, the technological developments reach an unbelieable level. Reaching this development and variation is the main target of all societies. Everybody believes that to achieve this target is possible by teaching a foreign language. According to this belief at the first step of education, at primary schools the foreign language education is being given in our country. Although for about 10-12 years beginning from primary school till the university education the students have two or four hours foreign language classes every week, the ones who graduate from universites have to try to learn foreign language at private courses. Learning a foreign language is one of the means to reach high civilization for Turkish society, the target of this inquiry is to investigate the foreign language education at primary schools and try to find possible solutions for these problems.Since there is a lasting and a very fast change at every field of education, the need of these king of investigations about Turkish education system arises. In this study, firstly the training and education terms are exposed, secondly the Turkish education steps are touched on and then the theme of this thesis; the place, importance and the target of the education system at primary schools are explained. The purpose of foreign language education at primary step is expressed with a general look at foreign language education in our country. With the questionnaires, interviews and the literature searchings it has been tired to determine how much we achieve to reach the target of primary schools at Turkish National Education System and what kinds of problems are seen. In the conclusion with reference to these problems solution proposals are prodeced. For the field of the thesis East Marmara Region is defined and for the questionnaire studies the land Adapazarı is based. In the questionnaires the teachers and the students in the education system are dealed with. To conclude, it is seen that there is a need to deal with the foreign language education programme according to the new methods and education technics. Apart from this, while defining the education methods and materials, the conditions of the schools at Turkish education system must be considered.Parallel the these it has seen that with the servant education, the teachers must be imitated to use the new technology and methods.
