Abstract
Nükleer reaksiyon tesir kesiti ölçümleri p-proses çekirdek sentezi modeli için oldukça önemlidir. P-proses çekirdek sentezi modeli reaksiyon tesir kesiti bilgisini içerdiğinden bu model genellikle Hauser-Feshbach teorik istatistiksel model ile elde edilen teorik hesaplamalara dayanmaktadır. Genellikle, (a,γ) reaksiyonuna ait deneysel sonuçlar teorik model tahminlerine göre düşük çıkmaktadır. Doğal ve zenginleştirilmiş antimon hedefleriyle alfa yakalama reaksiyonları aktivasyon metodu ile etkin kütle merkezi enerjisi cinsinden ilgili astrofiziksel enerji aralığına yakın olan 9,74 MeV ve 15,48 MeV aralığında yapılmıştır. 121Sb(a,γ)125I, 121Sb(a,n)124I ve 123Sb(a,n)126I reaksiyonlarının ilgili p-proses tesir kesiti ölçümleri, astrofiziksel reaksiyon hızlarını test etmek ve p-çekirdeklerinin üretimini anlamada gerekli olan deneysel verileri genişletmek için önemlidir. Bu deneyler Macaristan Nükleer Bilimler Araştırma Enstitüsü (MTA Atomki) MGC-20E siklotron hızlandırıcısında aktivasyon metodu kullanılarak gerçekleştirildi. 121Sb(a,γ)125I, 121Sb(a,n)124I ve 123Sb(a,n)126I reaksiyonlarına ait tesir kesitlerini belirlemek için, reaksiyon ürünlerine ait e bozunumunu takiben yayınlanan γ-ışınları HPGe dedektörü ile ölçüldü. Measurements of nuclear reaction cross sections are crucial in the modeling of p-process nucleosynthesis. The modeling of p-process nucleosynthesis involves the knowledge of cross sections and it depends mostly on theoretical calculations through the Hauser-Feshbach statistical model approach. The experimental results of the (a,γ) reaction are considerably lower compared to their model predictions. Alpha induced reactions on natural and enriched antimony targets were able to investigated via the activation technique in the effective center of mass energy between 9.74 MeV and 15.48 MeV, close to the astrophysically relevant energy range. The measurements of the 121Sb(a,γ)125I, 121Sb(a,n)124I and 123Sb(a,n)126I reaction cross sections relevant for the p-process is important to test astrophysical reaction rate predictions and to extend the experimental database required to understanding the production of p-nuclei.The experiments were carried out by the activation method at the MGC-20E cyclotron of the Institute for Nuclear Research, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA Atomki). In order to determine the cross sections of the 121Sb(a,γ)125I, 121Sb(a,n)124I and 123Sb(a,n)126I reactions, the yield of γ-rays following the e decay of products were measured with a HPGe detector. Particulary, at the lower alpha beam energies for (a,γ) measurements the characteristic X-rays were counted with a LEPS (Low Energy Photon Spectrometer) detector. The obtained results for 121Sb(a,γ)125I, 121Sb(a,n)124I and 123Sb(a,n)126I reaction cross sections and the astrophysical S factors are presented and compared with the predictions of Hauser-Fesbach statistical model calculations using the standard NON-SMOKER and default TALYS codes. The details of the measurements and the results have been presented in this work.
