dc.description.abstractRapid advancements experienced in Technology resulted in individuals that were not only assessing certain set of knowledge and trying to adapt themselves to the community but also adapting themselves to the rapidly changing and developing environment. The vocational and technical educational institutions has an important place in training of manpower that are capable of adapting themselves to the changes and developments to be experienced and also makes it possible to have such individuals reach at a level that they can follow such changes. The objective of this research is to make a general evaluation of technical high schools where the intermediary manpower are trained lower level technicians and the same time, where the students are prepared to enter in to higher education. The report consists of six chapters. At the first chapter problem and related information were given and at the second chapter the method was described. At the third, fourth and fifth chapters, the finding about school administrators and teachers, employers and graduates of technical high schools were presented. At the last chapter, summaries, results and recommendations we presented. In the research, three different groups were selected and with respect of these groups, three different type of questionnaires were developed to collect data from these groups. Furthermore, to gain information on the subject, the related literature were reviewed. The first group of the research included 59 school administrators and 245 teachers employed in ten technical high schools determined in Ankara. The second group was formed by 213 employers operating 58 work places. The third group included 266 students that had graduated from the electricity, electronics, computer and mechanical sections of these schools.In analysis of the data gathered by survey, descriptive statistical techniques were used and the frequency and percentage tables for the data were formed, -z- test was used to determine whether there was a significant difference between means at evaluations of groups. In the direction of the results attained based on the data collected questionnaires, recommendations were developed to improve the quality of the education at technical high schools.en_US
