Nowadays, as in the past, the problem has led the countriesto benefit from foreign sources and foreign direct investment. Not only the developedcountries but also the developing countries strive to attract foreign direct investmentin their own countries. The reason behind this attempt is the wish to make use of thecapital, new technology, the increase of the employment and a wide range of marketfacilities provided by the foreign direct investment. Today majority of the foreigndirect investment has been carried out by mutlti-national corparations.Turkey, which longs enormously for benefitting from the foreign directinvestment, has followed the policies to open its markets to foreign investors sincethe 1980s. Today at a time in which the process of globalization has gained a greatdeal of speed, Turkey, when compared with other countries, has been unable toattract foreign investors, apart from a few examples, although it has someadvantages. Keywords: Globalization, Foreign Direct Investment, Multi-NationalCorparations, Turkish Economy, The Effect of Foreign Direct Investment
