Abstract
In this work we present design, constructionand performance of a hybrid pyranometer between Starand Black and White types. The sensor of the pyranometerconsists of three pairs of black and white metalsurfaces. Thermocouples are attached under the surfaceswith epoxy rezin, and connected in series to form athermopile. Pyranometer has a borosilicate glass domeand a desiccator box filled with granular silicagell.The constructed pyranometer has an instrumentconstant of about lxlO-6 Volts/W/m2 . Its response timebeing about 22 seconds. After making comparison withstandard pyranometer: and pyroheliometer data, instrumentwas shown to be linear within! 0,5 percentup to~intensitiesof 1400 W/m2 • Deviation from the cosine law wask5sthan 3 percent. The output does not depend on the ambienttemperature, for the sooe temperature interval. 'The longtermstability has been investigated for more than 6months and has been found to be stable within 3 percent.Zero position constancy also being seen to be good forthe above time interval.
