dc.description.abstract-67- 7» SUMMARY In this research data from 128 Blaok and Whit©, 99 Kilis type Southern Rod, 28 3? ana 13 G1 cows of Reyhanlı State Farm were ©voluated. Average age at first pregnancy and parturation of `bought in oows are yo- unger than the cows `bred in the Farm bought in cows( Table 4.1.1. ). Average ago at first pregnancy of F, G and Kilis is 639,9 + 32,2 j 697,8 + 75fO and 738,2 + 25,4 days respectively, İn this genotype groups and also in the order, average^age at first calving is 909,6 + 27,2 ; 962,1 + 70,7 Î 1025,0 + 21,5 days. Average period for next pregnancy for F genotype is 83 »89 » 347 days longer than G, Kilis groups respectively» Average period for next pregnancy for G genotype is 100,28 days longer than Black and '-White group.. Average dry period for F and Black and $hite` genotypes are as ex pected. Same characteristic for Kilis and G cows are longer (Table 4«1»7. ). From the records kept in the Farm, it was concluded that, the time of cal ving can not be estimated properly and as a result that, the cows hard shor ter, or no dry period» Time between two calwing in similar for Black and White and Kilis cows but longer in G (Table 4.1,9» ), Average periods of pregnancy in all genotype groups are similar with ot her investigations in Turkey, but significantly different from each other at 1 % level ( Table 4.1.12. ). İt was concluded that contagious abortus, which begun ü.% 1975 affected fertility and percentage of abortus calves. Percentage of still birth calvos are small in all genotype groups except Black' and îlhite ( Tables 4.1.14 î 4.1.15. 5 4.1.16 i } 4.1.17, ). Rate of survivaT^t 0- 6 months of age was high. İn all genotype groups non return rate in first service was high( Tab le 4.1.18. ). Birth weight of F and G calves are not significantly different all other genotypes were found significantly different from each other (Table 4.1.23»). Using Least Square Analysis Technique the effect of age at first calving, season of calving and number of lactation on 305 day lactation yield were ana lysed. Age of first calving and number of lactation were significantly effective-68- oa 305 doy milk yields arid correction factors were found (Table 4«3«6.) and used in order to correct milk yield to güneral mean ` Correoted 305 day and lactation milk yield average for Black end Kh.it e cows were higher then the others, the lowest in Kilis cows and in between for G and F groups ( Table 4»3#9» and 4«3«H»). İt is astonishing that average corrected 305 day milk yield of F_ cows is higher than for G cows « İt was -., A 1 -. 1 concluded that, the number of G cows in the average was low and c!so farm administration was willing to keep all G cows to increase their number in the 1 c population. The heritability of 305 ^-^ milk yield was estimated as 33»5 + 36,1 $>, using intra - year fuel silo correlation, Repeatability of milk yield for Black and White and F cows were 14 + 9 f°/t 39 + 15 1» respectively (Table 4.3*14 and 4.3«15 ). Real Producing ability breeding value and general Breeding value for 101 Black and White cows were estimated (Table 4»3»l6» ) « Only Real Produ cing ability for 18 F cows were estimated ( Table 4«3*17» ) « Breeding value of 25 bulls used in service at Reyhanla. State Farm were es- timated( Table 4»3« 18.) 3°5 <3-ay correoted milk yields were used in order to estimate breeding value of bulls»
