Z kuşağının çalışma hayatından beklentileri: Bir alan araştırması

Abstract

Teknolojinin hızla geliştiği ve takibinde zorlanıldığı bir çağda yetişen ve adeta teknoloji ile büyüyen bir nesil haline gelen Z kuşağı birçok özelliğiyle kendisinden önceki X ve Ykuşaklarından ayrılmaktadır. Bu sebeple yurt dışı ve yurt içinde birçok araştırmayakonu olmaktadır. Çalışma yaşamı da bu konuların başında gelmektedir.Bu çalışmada Z kuşağı mensubu üniversite öğrencilerinin çalışma hayatından beklentileri ile ilgili nitel bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Araştırmada derinlemesine görüşme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. 23 kişilik bir üniversite öğrencisi grubuyla görüşülüp 8 demografik, 9 da araştırma sorusu sorulmuştur.Sorulara verilen cevaplar 3 temel başlık altında incelenmiştir. Sonrasında değerlendirmeler yapılarak hipotezler test edilmiştir.Bulgulara göre, Z kuşağının teknoloji ile yakından ilgili, özgür düşünceye ve adalete önem veren, kolektif çalışma beklentisinde olan bir nesil olduğu ortaya koyulmuştur.Sonuç olarak ise gelecekte önemli işler yapacak olan Z kuşağına hem eğitim hem de iş hayatında beklentilerini karşılayacak fırsatlar sunulması gerektiği önerilmiştir.

The Z generation, which grows in an age where technology develops rapidly and has difficulty in follow-up and has become a generation that grows with technology, is distinguished from its previous X and Y generations with its many features. For this reason, it is the subject of many researches in Turkey and abroad. Labour life is one of these issues.In this study, a qualitative research has been carried out about the expectations of working class Z university students.. In-depth interview method was used in the research. A group of 23 university students was interviewed and 8 demographic and 9 research questions were asked.The answers given to the questions were examined under 3 main headings. Afterwards, hypotheses were tested by evaluations.According to the findings, Z generation is a generation which is closely related to technology, gives importance to free thinking and justice and expects collective work.As a result, it was suggested that generation Z, which will carry out important works in the future, should be provided with opportunities to meet its expectations in both education and business life.
